8/31/05-A bill in the House Tax Policy Committee would drop the 6 percent sales tax on regular unleaded if the price pushes above $2.30 per gallon.
HB4841, sponsored by Rep. Robert Gosselin, R-Troy, reportedly would cost Michigan $3 million a year in sales tax revenue for every penny that gas prices rise above $2.30.
