12/16/05-The Senate Transportation Committee advanced a bill Dec. 13 that would ban all new billboards along state roads until 2009.
Part of a three-bill package, SB567, sponsored by Sen. Tom George, R-Texas Township, would allow permits to be issued if the applicants give up billboard permits they already hold.
The Senate could vote on bill package, which includes SB568 and SB911, next month.
