5/20/05-A bill that would have allow police to pull over motorists for not wearing their seat belts has died.
HB339, sponsored by Rep. Neal St. Onge, R-Ballwin, remained in the House Transportation Committee at the close of the session May 13, effectively killing it for the year.
Current state law allows motorists to be ticketed for failure to buckle up only after being stopped for another traffic violation.
