7/19/05-Gov. Ed Rendell has signed a bill into law permitting trucks hauling refrigerated meat cargo containers coming out of the Port of Philadelphia to weigh as much as 107,500 pounds.
The new rule, previously HB489, allows the heavy trucks to run on specified highways and routes in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
Travel is authorized 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, excluding holidays and during inclement weather.
