6/27/05-Gov. Mark Warner has signed a bill into law creating a permanent Interstate 81 safety task force that would include private citizens, a state police representative, local government officials and representatives of the trucking and highway construction industries.
The new law, previously HB2554, encourages Virginia to work with other states to improve intermodal rail transportation along the coast.

2/18/05-The Senate unanimously approved a bill Feb. 15 that would create a permanent Interstate 81 safety task force that would include private citizens, a state police representative, local government officials and representatives of the trucking and highway construction industries.
HB2554, sponsored by Delegate Ben Cline, R-Amherst, would encourage Virginia to work with other states to improve intermodal rail transportation along the coast.
The bill, which previously passed the House, now heads to Gov. Mark Warner for approval.
