2/18/05-The House Militia, Police and Public Safety Committee voted 15-6 on Feb. 18 against a bill that sought to expand photo-monitoring systems for traffic signal enforcement to all of Virginia instead of specified localities.
SB732, sponsored by Sen. Charles Colgan, D-Manassas, would have enabled a local government – after holding a public hearing – to post cameras at up to 25 intersections within the municipality.
It previously passed the Senate.
