10/10/05-SB366, sponsored by Sen. Dave Hansen, D-Green Bay, would require the state Transportation Department to place signs along freeways and expressways prohibiting the use, except in an emergency, of engine brakes if a municipality prohibits the use of engine brakes within the municipality.
Under current law, the Department of Transportation erects signs for the guidance or warning of traffic along highways, including freeways and expressways.
The bill is in the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Transportation.
