4/26/06-Gov. Bob Riley signed a bill into law allowing for a pay increase for state troopers.
The new law, previously SB85, will increase entry-level state trooper pay from $27,994 to $30,883. Troopers and corporals also will receive a 10 percent raise and sergeants and lieutenants we see a 7.5 percent boost in pay.
The new law goes into effect June 1.
