3/7/06-The Senate killed a bill – SB1016 – on a 13-13 tie Feb. 13 that would have required that a person convicted of identity theft serve at least 180 days in jail if placed on probation and not sentenced to prison.
12/22/05-Sen. Marilyn Jarrett, R-Mesa, has offered a bill that would require that a person convicted of identity theft serve at least 180 days in jail if placed on probation and not sentenced to prison.
SB1016, which is awaiting assignment to a committee, will be considered in the legislative session that begins next month.
