6/26/06-A bill that initially would have punished drivers who have their vehicle stolen after they forget to take their keys with them has died.
Sponsored by Sen. Linda Gray, R-Phoenix, SB1059 would have allowed insurance companies to reject claims if they can prove the keys were left anywhere in the vehicle, not just the ignition.
The bill also would have allowed insurers to refuse to pay for items stolen from vehicles in similar circumstances.
