9/7/06-A bill that would have required local air districts to develop diesel reduction measures and plans to reduce emissions has died. Areas affected would have included 10 airports, five seaports and 25 rail yards.
Sponsored by Assemblywoman Jenny Oropeza, D-Carson, AB1101 was rejected by the Senate on their final day of work for the regular session. The Assembly previously approved it.

8/10/06-The Senate Appropriations Committee voted 8-5 Aug. 9 to approve a bill that would require local air districts to develop diesel reduction measures and plans to reduce emissions. Areas affected would include 10 airports, five seaports and 25 rail yards.
Sponsored by Assemblywoman Jenny Oropeza, D-Carson, AB1101 passed the Senate Housing and Environmental Quality Committee earlier in the week.
The bill now heads to the full Senate for consideration. If approved there, it would head back to the Assembly for approval of changes.
