6/1/06-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed a bill into law to establish public-private partnerships for goods movements.
The new law, previously AB1467, authorizes the state to partner with private groups to build four toll routes and four high-occupancy vehicle lane projects.
Two public-private projects will be allowed in northern California and two more in southern California. Two HOV lane projects will be allowed in northern California and two more in southern California.
The Legislature will have final approval on the projects.

5/9/06-The Legislature approved a bill that would establish public-private partnerships for goods movements. It now heads to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s desk for his signature.
Sponsored by Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, D-Los Angeles, AB1467 would authorize the state to partner with private groups to build four toll routes and four high-occupancy vehicle lane projects.
Two public-private projects would be allowed in northern California and two more in southern California. Two HOV lane projects would be allowed in northern California and two more in southern California.
The Legislature would have final approval on the projects.
