7/6/06-The Assembly Transportation Committee voted 6-4 to kill a bill that would have allowed harbor agencies to develop permitting systems for trucks serving the ports, in an effort to promote such things as security and keeping higher-polluting trucks out.
SB762 was sponsored by Sen. Alan Lowenthal, D-Long Beach.
