5/30/06-Gov. Bill Owens signed a bill into law that requires state-owned vehicles to use biodiesel.
The new law, previously SB16, mandates the use of a 20 percent biodiesel blend if the price of the biodiesel is no more than 10 cents higher than that of regular diesel.
It goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2007.
2/23/06-The House Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources Committee approved a bill Feb. 20 that would require state-owned vehicles to use biodiesel.
SB16, which previously passed the Senate, now heads to the full House for further consideration.
The bill would mandate the use of a 20 percent biodiesel blend if the price of the biodiesel is no more than 10 cents higher than that of regular diesel.
It would go into effect on Jan. 1, 2007.

1/26/06-The Senate Transportation Committee approved a bill Jan. 24 that would require state-operated trucks in Colorado to use biodiesel.
SB16 would mandate the use of a 20 percent biodiesel blend if the price of the biodiesel is no more than 10 cents higher than that of regular diesel.
There are 37 vehicles in the state that would be affected by the bill, which does not include Department of Transportation vehicles.
The bill is now under consideration by the full Senate. If passed, the law would go into effect on Jan. 1, 2007.
