5/31/06-Democratic senators in Florida want a one- to two-month break from the state’s per-gallon tax on gasoline. The state’s tax on diesel would be unchanged.
Lawmakers enacted a similar break from the gas tax two years ago when they knocked off 8 cents per gallon. The tax break cost the state $59.7 million in lost revenues for road building.
