2/14/06-A bill has died that would have eliminated split speeds and allowed vehicles with five or more axles operating at a gross weight of more than 26,000 pounds to travel up to 75 mph – the same limit as all other vehicles.
Currently, big rigs are limited to 65 mph on the affected roadways.
The bill – SB1349 – was withdrawn from consideration by its sponsor, effectively killing it.

2/7/06-A bill in the Senate Transportation Committee would eliminate the state’s split speed limit on interstate highways.
SB1349, sponsored by Sen. Tim Corder, R-Mountain Home, would allow vehicles with five or more axles operating at a gross weight of more than 26,000 pounds to travel up to 75 mph – the same limit as all other vehicles. Currently, big rigs are limited to 65 mph on the affected roadways.
