6/7/06-Gov. Rod Blagojevich has signed a bill into law that requires the state transportation department to maintain and provide a listing of all Class I, Class II and Class III designated streets and highways in the state.
The new law, previously SB1086, also requires the department to list all local streets or highways that have been designated by local agencies. In addition, IDOT is required to maintain and provide an official map of the designated state truck route system that includes state and local streets and highways that haven’t been designated.
The new rule takes effect Jan. 1, 2007.
