3/13/06-A bill – SB2837 – is likely dead that would have created “Support Our Troopers” license plates to fund the Illinois State Police.

2/8/06-The Senate Transportation Committee voted 6-4 to approve a bill that would create Support Our Troopers license plates to fund the Illinois State Police.
Under SB2837, sponsored by Sen. Deanna Demuzio, D-Carlinville, the plate would cost $40 to purchase and $27 for renewal. Twenty-five dollars of that amount would be deposited into the state police vehicle fund.
The bill has been forwarded to the full Senate.
