12/14/05-A bill filed by Rep. Rick Nelson, D-Middlesboro, would require fees for issuance of driver’s licenses and instruction permits to be reduced by $12.
BR824 would establish fees for issuance of commercial driver’s licenses, instruction permits and endorsements; require $3.50 for issuance of licenses to be deposited in the general fund; establish that the commercial driver’s license expire in the birth month of the license holder; require the state’s transportation cabinet to publicize a fee schedule for commercial driver’s licenses and endorsements issuance for less than four years.
Nelson’s effort will be considered in the legislative session that begins Jan. 3.
