12/19/06-A bill to tap into the state's general fund to help pay for roadwork has died. Sponsored by Rep. Eddie Lambert, R-Prairieville, HB97 remained in the House Appropriations Committee when the special session ended Dec. 15 - two days early than planned. The bill sought to appropriate $20 million in one-time funding for expansion of state Highway 42 in Ascension Parish.
