12/19/06-A bill that called for tapping into the state's general fund to help pay for roadwork has died. Sponsored by Rep. Eddie Lambert, R-Prairieville, HB98 remained in the House Appropriations Committee when the special session ended Dec. 15 - two days earlier than planned. The bill would have earmarked $10 million in one-time funding for improvements along state Highway 73 in Ascension Parish.
