8/10/06-Gov. Jennifer Granholm has signed a bill into law requiring distributors and retail dealers of diesel and alternative fuels to obtain a license for each retail outlet.
Previously SB1079, the new law also amends the Motor Fuels Quality Act to extend to diesel and specified alternative fuels regulations concerning the quality, storage, manufacture, delivery, and sale of fuel.

6/23/06-The House approved a bill 103-1 June 21 that would require distributors and retail dealers of diesel and alternative fuels to obtain a license for each retail outlet.
Sponsored by Sen. Cameron Brown, R-Fawn River, SB1079 also would amend the Motor Fuels Quality Act to extend to diesel and specified alternative fuels regulations concerning the quality, storage, manufacture, delivery, and sale of gasoline.
The bill has been sent back to the Senate for approval of changes. If approved, it would move to Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s desk.
