5/30/06-Gov. Jennifer Granholm has signed a plan into law that green lights the state to use $80 million in bonding from the state trunkline fund to provide grants to county and municipal governments to match $320 million in federal transportation funding.
SB1192 requires funds from the local federal match program (proceeds of certain bonds) go to municipalities and other local road agencies. It also requires reports on how many projects were funded and the geographic spread of those projects.
The bill is tie-barred with two other bills that also have been signed into law. The bills – SB1132 and HB6003 – create a federal match program.
