1/3/07-A bill has died that sought to prevent the use of event data recorder, or "black box," data in criminal trials without a waiver from the operator or a valid search warrant.
Sponsored by Sen. Wayne Kuipers, R-Holland, SB904 remained in the Senate Transportation Committee when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year.

Sponsored by Sen. Wayne Kuipers, R-Holland, SB904 is tie-barred with SB902, meaning one couldn’t take effect unless the other is enacted.
