5/12/06-A bill that would have given residents in the state a tax break on buying a new pickup truck or minivan that was made in the state has died.
HB1249, sponsored by Rep. Michael Spreng, D-St. Louis, remained in the Senate Ways and Means Committee when the session ended. The House previously approved it.
The bill would have waived the state’s sales tax on all models of vehicles built in the state.

3/7/06-The House approved a bill March 2 that would give residents in the state a tax break on buying a new pickup truck or minivan that was made in the state.
HB1249, sponsored by Rep. Michael Spreng, D-St. Louis, would waive the state’s sales tax on all models of vehicles built in the state.
The bill has been sent to the Senate for further consideration.
