5/19/06-A bill that would have banned large trucks from driving in the far left lane on urban highways and interstates in the state has died.
HB980, sponsored by Rep. Patricia Yaeger, D-St. Louis, remained in the House Transportation Committee when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
It would have kept trucks with gross weight exceeding 48,000 pounds to the right on roads with two or more lanes in each direction.
Violators could be subject to a fine ranging from $200 to $300.

HB980, sponsored by Rep. Patricia Yaeger, D-St. Louis, would keep trucks with gross weight exceeding 48,000 pounds to the right on roads with two or more lanes in each direction.
Violators could be subject to a fine ranging from $200 to $300.

12/6/05-Rep. Patricia Yaeger, D-St. Louis, has prefiled a bill that would prohibit large trucks from driving in the far left-hand lane on urban highways and interstates in the state.
HB980 would keep trucks with gross weight exceeding 48,000 pounds to the right on roads with two or more lanes in each direction.
Violators could be subject to a fine ranging from $200 to $300.
The bill has yet to be assigned to a committee. It will be considered in the legislative session that begins Jan. 5.
