5/12/06-A bill that would have required all diesel fuel sold after Jan. 1, 2007, to use at least 2 percent biodiesel has died.
Sponsored by Sen. John Cauthorn, R-Mexico, SB732 remained in the Senate Agriculture, Conservation, Parks & Natural Resources Committee when the session ended.
Biodiesel is a renewable fuel made from agricultural products such as grains or animal fat. It can be used alone or blended with petroleum-based diesel. As a 2-percent blend, it can be used in any diesel engine without modification.
