5/16/06-A bill that would have clarified that an owner-operator leased to a trucking company is not an employee for purposes of unemployment compensation has died.
SB755, sponsored by Sen. Dan Clemens, R-Marshfield, never came up for consideration before the full Senate.

3/15/06-The Senate Small Business, Insurance & Industrial Relations Committee approved a bill March 1 that would clarify that an owner-operator leased to a trucking company is not an employee for purposes of unemployment compensation.
SB755, sponsored by Sen. Dan Clemens, R-Marshfield, has been sent to the full Senate for further consideration.
