7/31/06-A bill that would have authorized a toll plaza to be placed on Interstate 95 at the border between Virginia and North Carolina has died.
Sponsored by Sen. Clark Jenkins, D-Tarboro, SB1578 remained in the Senate Transportation Committee when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year.

5/23/06-A bill in the Senate Transportation Committee would authorize a toll plaza to be placed on Interstate 95 at the border between Virginia and North Carolina.
SB1578 is sponsored by Sen. Clark Jenkins, D-Tarboro.
The Virginia Legislature approved a similar bill this year. If North Carolina lawmakers also pass the bill it would need final authorization from Congress.
