10/16/06-A bill in the Assembly Transportation and Public Works Committee would toughen penalties for increasing the price of fuel more than once in a 24-hour period.
Sponsored by Assemblyman Jeff Van Drew, D-Vineland, A2215 would fine fuel wholesalers up to $5,000 for a first offense. Subsequent offenses could result in a $10,000 fine.
