Call to Action

Pennsylvania

12/5/06-A bill has died that would have forbidden drivers from talking on cell phones – even “hands-free” devices – while behind the wheel.
Sponsored by Rep. Robert Flick, R-Malvern, HB2745 remained in the House Transportation Committee when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill would have made it a summary offense to drive while using a mobile device.
Violators would have faced $10 fines. Young drivers would have faced up to $300 fines or community service. Emergency calls would have been exempted.
