3/27/06-A bill has died that would have modified state law for guns in vehicles.
Lawmakers weren’t able to agree on wording in the bill. SB24 originally called for allowing a gun to be placed in a vehicle’s center console or glove box.
Utah law now allows for a firearm in a vehicle, but only if it is unloaded and either out in the open or in a closed case other than a center console or a glove box. Concealed-weapons permit holders are exempt from the restrictions.
