10/4/06-A bill that would have put a requirement on any toll route that remains under state control has died.
Sponsored by Delegate John Welch, R-Virginia Beach, HB5067 mandated that all toll facilities controlled by the Virginia Department of Transportation be capable of fully automated electronic operation by July 1, 2008.
The bill remained in the Senate Transportation Committee when the special session on transportation ended Sept. 28. The House previously approved it.

9/25/06-A bill expected to draw consideration during the four-day special session on transportation that starts Wednesday, Sept. 27, would put a requirement on any toll route that remains under state control.
