10/10/06-A bill – HB5088 – that would clarify that the Commonwealth Transportation Board allocate $50 million each fiscal year in matching funds to localities was incorporated into HB5050, which failed to gain passage during the special session on transportation that ended Sept. 28.
Funds would have been used for maintenance and construction of state highways.

9/20/06-A bill expected to draw consideration during the four-day special session on transportation that starts Wednesday, Sept. 27, would clarify that the Commonwealth Transportation Board allocate $50 million each fiscal year in matching funds to localities.
Sponsored by House Transportation Committee Chairman Leo Wardrup, R-Virginia Beach, HB5088 would use the funds for maintenance and construction of state highways.
