2/17/06-A bill has died that sought to halt negotiations for a large-scale widening project on Interstate 81 to be funded by tolls.
SB397, sponsored by Sen. Emmett Hanger Jr., R-Mount Solon, was stricken from consideration in the Senate Transportation Committee, effectively killing it.
The bill directed the Virginia Department of Transportation to end negotiations with STAR Solutions to expand the interstate.
