3/21/06-A bill has died that would have allowed localities to use cameras to catch red-light runners.
SB453 never came up for a vote in the House Militia, Police and Public Safety Committee, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill would have permitted the cameras at selected intersections in the counties of Arlington and Fairfax, the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, and Virginia Beach, and the town of Vienna.
2/3/06-The Senate voted 30-9 Feb. 1 to advance a bill that would allow localities to use cameras to catch red-light runners.
SB453, sponsored by Sen. Jeannemarie Davis, R-Vienna, would permit the cameras at selected intersections in the counties of Arlington and Fairfax, the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, and Virginia Beach, and the town of Vienna.
