5/10/06-A bill that would have required “vehicle operators to obey highway markings” has died.
H68, sponsored by Rep. Linda Myers, R-Essex Junction, remained in the House Transportation Committee when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill sought to rein in motorists who cross the center of roads with double yellow lines. In Vermont, unless you’re approaching a curve, hill, intersection or rail crossing, it’s legal to pass.
The bill would have outlawed the action.
