5/10/06-A bill that called for maintaining the state’s secondary rule for seat belts has died.
Sponsored by Sen. Mark Shepard, R-Bennington, and Sen. Robert Starr, D-Essex/Orleans, S263 remained in the Senate Transportation Committee when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill also would have banned police from setting up roadblocks to nab drivers who are not belted.
