3/21/06-A bill has died that would have established a renewable fuel standard for ethanol to meet 10 percent of the state’s motor fuel demand.
HB2665 remained in the House Technology, Energy and Communications Committee at the deadline to advance from the House to the Senate, effectively killing the bill.
The bill also clarified that existing tax exemptions and preferential tax rates are available to assist in the production, manufacturing and distribution of ethanol.
In addition, it provided a definition of biodiesel fuel.

HB2665, sponsored by Rep. Janea Holmquist, R-Moses Lake, also clarifies that existing tax exemptions and preferential tax rates are available to assist in the production, manufacturing and distribution of ethanol.
In addition, it provides a definition of biodiesel fuel.
