3/22/06-A bill has died that would have allowed police to ticket drivers who fail to flip on their lights when precipitation is flying.
SB5023 was in the Senate Rules Committee at the deadline to advance from the Senate to the House, effectively killing the bill.
The bill sought to require lights to be on whenever visibility is limited. The measure defined that as “any time when the vehicle's windshield wipers are in use due to snow, rain, fog, or other sight-limiting atmospheric conditions.”
