Public hearing scheduled regarding the implementation of a proposed California Leafy Green Products Handler Marketing Agreement

The California Department of Food & Agriculture is conducting a public hearing on Friday January 12, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are located at 2004 Fairgrounds Road. Monterey, California.

If you haul produce, this proposed Marketing Agreement could impose additional requirements from shippers upon your operation. The California agricultural community has requested a Marketing Agreement to impose good agricultural practices (best business practices) upon signatories to the agreement. This agreement is in response to recent food contamination outbreaks.
