3/22/07-A bill died that would have made it illegal for 16- and 17-year-olds to use any cell phone while behind the wheel. Violators would have faced a loss of one point on their driver's licenses.
Sponsored by Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver, D-Decatur, HB4 missed a deadline to advance, effectively killing it for the year.
11/20/06-Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver, D-Decatur, has filed a bill that would make it illegal for 16- and 17-year-olds to use any cell phone while behind the wheel. Violators would face a loss of one point on their driver's licenses.
