1/15/08-HB3661 remained in the House Rules Committee when session ended. It can be brought back for consideration during the 2008 session.

4/6/07-A bill in the House Rules Committee would require all 1993-1998 model trucks in excess of the 16,000 gross vehicle weight rating to have federally mandated computer hardware and/or software installed to control nitrogen oxide emissions.
Under HB3661, sponsored by Rep. Elaine Nekritz, D-Des Plaines, non-compliance could result in vehicles being placed out of service. Punishment for violating the OOS rule would be a fine of $1,000.
For House bill status, call (217) 782-5799. In Illinois, call 1-800-252-6300.
