1/15/08-HB4166 remained in the House Rules Committee when session ended. It can be brought back for consideration during the 2008 session.

11/6/07-Rep. JoAnn Osmond, R-Antioch, has introduced a bill that would ban the use of double-deck trailers to transport horses.
Violators would face $500 fines per animal. Subsequent offenses would result in fines up to $1,000 per animal.
Currently, Illinois law does not prohibit transporting horses in double-decker trailers.
HB4162 is in the House Rules Committee. A nearly identical bill – HB4166 – also is in the Rules Committee.
For House bill status, call (217) 782-5799. In Illinois, call 1-800-252-6300.
