5/11/07-Gov. Tim Pawlenty signed a bill into law that includes a provision making loans available to school districts and small trucking firms to install equipment to reduce fuel consumption.
The new law, previously SF2096, earmarks $2.4 million during the next two years for trucks and buses to be retrofitted with idle reduction technology.

The Senate voted 64-1 to sign off on the bill. House lawmakers followed suit on a 97-30 vote. The actions cleared the way for the bill to move to Gov. Tim Pawlenty's desk.
