5/23/07-A bill has died that would have offered tax breaks for highway contractors.
Sponsored by Rep. Neal St. Onge, R-Ellisville, HB248 remained in the House Ways and Means Committee when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill would have exempted contractors from paying sales tax on materials bought for highway projects. The rule change would have taken effect in July 2008.
