5/22/07-A bill has died that would have allowed taxpayers who buy biodiesel to claim income tax credits up to $500 each of the next four years. For 2008, the amount of the credit would be equal to 5 cents per gallon purchased. The following two years, the credit would be equal to 3 cents per gallon. In 2011, the credit would be equal to 5 cents per gallon.
SB40 was awaiting consideration on the House floor when the session ended, effectively killing it for the year. The Senate previously approved a slightly different version.

5/8/07-The House Special Committee on Utilities approved a bill that would allow taxpayers who buy biodiesel to claim income tax credits up to $500 each of the next four years. For 2008, the amount of the credit would be equal to 5 cents per gallon purchased. The following two years, the credit would be equal to 3 cents per gallon. In 2011, the credit would be equal to 5 cents per gallon.
SB40 has been forwarded to the House Rules Committee. The Senate already approved a slightly different version. If the bill passes the House it would need final approval in the Senate before heading to Gov. Matt Blunt's desk.
