2/6/07-A bill has died that would have authorized the Mississippi Department of Transportation to use radar on state highways to enforce speed limits solely on large trucks.
Sponsored by Rep. Bennett Malone, D-Carthage, HB425 remained in the House Transportation Committee at the deadline to advance to the chamber floor, effectively killing it for the year.
The bill permitted the agency's law enforcement officers to track speeds of commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight in excess of 10,000 pounds.
