Attention: North Carolina truckers. There is a public meeting planned Thursday, Feb. 8, to discuss tolling the southern portion of a proposed extension of Interstate 540.
The proposed extension of I-540 is going to be toll free north of Route 55, but the state is considering a toll for the southern portion near Apex, Cary and Morrisville.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation will consider public input from a meeting scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, in the Apex High School cafeteria, 1501 Laura Duncan Road, Apex, NC.
Residents and highway users wishing to comment can do so in person at the meeting, or call Jennifer Harris with the North Carolina Turnpike Authority at (919) 571-3004.
