OOIDA Call to Action - New Jersey Members
February 27, 2007
Attention: New Jersey truckers! A bill in the Senate Transportation Committee could lead to red-light cameras popping up in communities around your state. It is extremely important to speak out now against this legislation.
The Senate Transportation Committee is scheduled to consider a bill - S2123 - at 1 p.m., Monday, March 5, that would remove current restrictions and allow counties and cities to use photo-red enforcement at certain traffic signals.
The bill was put on hold at its last two scheduled hearings, but the word is that it will be heard March 5 even though amendments are not anticipated to be ready.
Please take time now to voice your concerns about this revenue-generating mechanism. Contact members of the Senate Transportation Committee prior to their meeting. Their contact information is listed below.
